San Diego Contemporary Architecture

San Diego Contemporary Architecture is almost by definition a new form of architecture in our neighborhoods. It’s a form of architecture that isn’t always readily embraced in some of San Diego’s older neighborhoods. Even in the most traditional neighborhoods, it is not unusual for a gleaming contemporary design to be nestled in among older homes. Neighborhoods such as Mission Hills have a small but still significant number of contemporary homes.

Neighborhoods, where luxury real estate is the norm, are where we most commonly find Contemporary architecture in San Diego. La Jolla, Del Mar, and Rancho Santa Fe are known for having some of the most spectacular contemporary homes in the area. You can often see examples of these in San Diego’s most expensive listings. Thankfully, not all of the contemporary design homes in San Diego fall into the $10M+ category.
